We know adoption can seem overwhelming, so we recommend taking things step by step.
• Request a packet of information from Buckner. This will give you basic information. Click here to request a packet.
• Once you have reviewed the material, if you wish to begin the process, you will need to attend the Domestic Infant Adoption Workshop and complete the Application Part I. You may complete these steps in the order that best suits your needs.
• The workshops cover the adoption process from start to finish, including home study procedures and fees. They provide an opportunity to hear from a family who has adopted through the program, and also allow ample time for questions and answers. A complete list of workshop dates and times is included in the packet that you will receive. Workshops are free, but you must pre-register. • The Application Part I (included in the packet of information) provides the agency with initial information on you and your family. It verifies whether you meet the requirements of our program, and gives us an idea of whether or not we may need to request additional information. The application needs to be submitted with a nonrefundable fee of $50.00.
For out-of-state families, special circumstances apply. Buckner is only looking for out-of-state families who are open to bi-racial, African American or special needs children. For more information, please email Sharon Hedrick, Office Manager, at shedrick@buckner.org.
